and it may be that if I could know when to stop and keep in portions then I
wouldn't have a problem, the journal and ritual of counting points really
helps me, Lee I'm with you, Flex is the better plan for me. I'd rather
count all my
points, even while eating Core, than avoid non-Core foods or remember
to count them. I eat mostly Core anyway and when I'm on program, I do
best when I avoid entirely certain foods. But I do enjoy having my
lite English muffin with cherry walnut butter for breakfast. I also
appreciate the assurance and accountability of journaling and counting
points. Performing these actions help me feel in control.

I am not sure if it violates it but it "felt" wrong. I for the most part do
eat healthier junk and even the bread I need to feel really full is higher
fiber. I am not 100 percent why but its not for me, and I wanted it to be,
Lee, glad for the try though I forgot about that part. I'm not sure if
having 1/2 or 1/3 of a portion 2
or 3 times in one day would violate the rule too much especially if you

need
to eat every few hours. This would be a lot different from having 2 or 3
full portions in one day but I would ask your leader to be sure.

In any case, if you stick with the core foods but count flex points I

think
you'll do just fine. I think the key to the Core program is the

elimination
of processed foods plus all the extra fiber to keep you full.

thanks, actually eating out is easier, grilled meat, and vegetables,

salad
and vegetable soup, my problem is that I miss my bread and I miss

eating
smaller meals, I sometimes make a portion and a half or two portions

of
pasta and split it into three snacks I didn't feel this was in the

spirit
of
core so I think it is just not for me, I wish it had been, Lee

You could have split your meals up under Core. The only guideline is

that
you eat until satisfied. If that means eating 3-5 small meals a day

then
go
for it.

good point, maybe feeling in charge is part of it, Lee Hi, Lee, You have to
do what you think is best for you. I think it either
plan works if you feel in charge of the situation which is what I feel

like
with the Core Plan. Good luck with the Flex.

You
are still doing good. I look forward to seeing how you do when
you go back to Flex. I am still doing the core. After a large loss, I

may
have gained some back but I only weigh in once a month now so I will

have
to
wait until a week from Friday to know for sure but I am staying with the
Core because I am not hungry the way I was the month before I started

Core.
I think it might be hard to do if I were eating out more.

I'm only journaling my points these days. I'm not paying attention to where
I end up at the end of the day with respect to my target. I am usually
within 2 points (+/-) but I am not aiming for that target anymore. Yesterday
it was -4 points. I forgot my oil with lunch or it would have been -2. What
is gone is the anxiety to hit my target each night with mindless junk. Gone
are the cravings or what ones I have are easily satisfied with some fruit or
a SF popcile. I do have my ice cream with the family (2pt non-fat soft ice
cream from our friends store) a few nights a week. If we don't do ice cream
I'll have 1/2 ff yogart or some ricotta cheese. I really like this part of
the program. And I think it is working better than Flex for me.

I'm inclined to agree with your analysis.

Eating mostly Core and counting Flex helps me make better food choices
while giving me the crutch of built-in portion control.
