Don't forget the chili on those cheese fries! When I lived in New Jersey
though I was a sucker for Italian subs (salami, pepperoni, cappicola,
provolone w/giardinera and mayo).

Those would be Hoagies! I'm so happy I escaped from NJ.

When I was growing up in upstate NY, my daddy (a Yankee from MA) called any
hot sub type sandwich a Grinder.

I live in PA Dutch Country where the motto "If it ain't fried, it ain't

I ran into a cute version of this recently. I was browsing a magazine
on weight loss for black women (an odd specialty, I think). Anyway,
one woman who was telling her weightloss story talked about growing up
in the deep south, where the saying was, "If they ain't fryin' it, I
ain't tryin' it."

They often have lutefisk and meatball dinners up here at the churches
in North Dakota.

Seems counterproductive to converting anyone... George describes
lutefisk, which he HAS been brave enough to try, as "smelly fish jello
with bones".

I think I'll pass.

Wise choice, Cynthia !! I've smelled the stuff and that was enough to let
me know I didn't want to taste it G

Haven't smelled it yet... but I did see some packaged at the grocery
store. That alone was enough to turn me off.

And normally I like fish.

I agree on the spam - we were made to eat it at school but I've never
had it since.
For me the all time most disgusting food is black pudding. Closely
followed by sushi, which I guess puts me in the minority as for some
reason I can't figure a lot of people seem to like it.

I'm in the sushi-lovers camp, myself. And it's very healthy, too :-).

Talking on about illegal food is not going to help you. Memory lane is
mentally fattening. it seems like just yesterday i was scarfing doewn
those little Cheesecake brownies, but it's actually been five months
since i even eyed one..

Sushi rules this earth! I love it more than any other food. I would eat
it
daily if I could.
