But I allow room in my WOE for a nice glass of wine ever once in a while. You can make some real good faux egg recipes with tofu. Do a google and you'll find lots and lots of recipes. Tonia |

If you're going to do Atkins induction you should do it as written which means if it's not on the list of allowable foods you don't eat/drink it. Wine is not on the list. Having said that you do not have to do induction to follow the Atkins diet. The two week induction phase is designed to help people get into ketosis and lose glycogen and water quickly. Anything you can eat the rest of the day can be eaten at breakfast. There's plenty of times I've eaten leftovers from dinner for breakfast the next day. One more thing to add about alcohol/wine......no matter what weight loss diet you choose to follow, alcohol is burned first before fat, protein, or carbs. It usually doesn't contribute nutrients so it's basically empty calories. |

I am sticking to Atkin diet as what I am told by the book until I meet my weight goal. It is my third day of induction. What do you eat for breakfast? I am allergic to eggs. I sometime ate the Atkins breakfast bar. It does help. -- Message posted via WeightAdviser.com http://www.weightadviser.com/Uwe/For.../diet/200611/1 |

Pure alcohol (vodka, gin, whisky, etc) have no carbs but they do have calories and will be burned first before carbs, fats, or proteins. Wine does have carbs but they come from the sugar content not the alcohol. For breakfast you could eat chunks or rolls of meat and cheese, any leftovers from the night before (I always made extra salmon so I could have some for breakfast the next day), meat mixed with cream cheese on celery or other acceptable veggies, broiled tomato slices or mushroom caps with cheese, tuna or chicken salad on veggies.... like I said before, anything you can eat the rest of the day can be eaten for breakfast. Break out of the "breakfast food" mentality and a whole new world opens up. ) I always tried to stay away from prepackaged foods whenever possible. Maybe it's just me but real food satisfies me more than bars or packaged foods. |

Your liver, whose primary role in the digestion process is to delegate fats to storage or for energy use is compromised when you drink any sort of alcohol. The liver stops its usual job and switches modes to rid the body of the alcohol which it perceives as a toxin. While doing this priority job, the liver has its 'fat switch' in standby mode - whether its bodyfat thats broken down into your bloodstream or fats you ingest from foods, its all going back into storage for later use. Depending on how much you drink, it may take up to four days for your liver to cleanse itself of the alcohol. So even if you are eating well and exercising each day, it may be for naught as you shot yourself in the foot/sabotaged your weightloss by drinking. So choices choices ...which is your priority? joanne |

My priority is meeting my ideal weight. That would be a staying and sticking
to an induction no matter what for next two weeks. I started this diet on November 10th and I was surprised to see myself not needing the wines. I don’t have any desire for wines at every dinner. It seems that during the induction does the work on releasing the sugar from my body system. I feel great so far. Although, I watch on what I eat on Atkins, I don’t try to eat red meat everyday, instead eat more fish, cream, and green salad. That way it doesn’t disease on my heart, liver, or else. joanne wrote: One more thing to add about alcohol/wine......no matter what weight loss diet you choose to follow, alcohol is burned first before fat, protein, or carbs. Really? I didn't know that. I thought that alochol has carbs. You are
right and it has a lot of calories, not carbs. It can be easily confused. Thank you for correcting it. Jeri wrote: snip Hi, [quoted text clipped - 5 lines] What do you eat for breakfast?
