I'm now an "angry babe" Mr. Man for responding to your rude post???

Grow a

My husband brought home a package of large garlic franks tonight
and I had a treat that tasted as decadent as a baseball or carnival

hotdog:

Wrap the frank in a small low carb tortilla (I used the green onion

flavor)
Preheat the oven to 425
Sprinkle the tortilla with seasoning of your choice
Spray the tortilla with cooking spray of your choice
Place the tortilla seam side down directly on the baking rack
Bake until the tortilla is lightly golden / brown or to your desired

texture

I had this with mustard that I squirted into the tortilla

after it
came out of the oven and it was wonderful! It is also quick which is a

plus.

Hi Andrea
This sounds terrific! I'm diabetic and use low carb to keep my sugar in
check as well as to lose some weight. Always looking for ways to keep this
WOE from getting boring. For me this is not a temporary "diet", it's the
rest of what I hope will be a long healthy life. FTR, there are always folks
that don't agree with keeping it interesting. I don't know why they insist
that the rest of us fall in "lock-step" with their regimes. Dr. Atkins wrote
his first book in the early 70's and it had several ideas and recipes for
replacing hamburger rolls, etc. There are now many items from the Atkins
line that attempt to replace forbidden foods, such as the ice cream, breads,
etc. I personally don't like the taste of most of them but each to his own.

Just makes you wonder about those folks claiming to be doing the Atkins WOE
but disdain anything other than basic foods. I have noticed that many folks
that don't have much to lose seem to be the most regimented, just my
observation. Reminds me of my morning workout a bit. There was this
long-faced, hair dyed black, overly tanned, bony woman that looked about
50+, wildly bouncing off the walls at Curves, arms and legs flailing in the
air! I didn't envy her "drive" a bit but I did feel sorry for her.
Apparently she missed the point that it is low impact aerobics and supposed
to be fun.

Anyway, I digress. Thanks for the recipe. Lunch tomorrow

MMMM!!! I tried it with a Caspers weiner and its delish. Something
else real good is take a couple thin slices of ham deli meat, grate a
lot cheddar and mozza on it( cover the ham) and put it on a plate.
Microwave it till it gets a bit dry ( chewy I say) Spread mayo and
mustard on LC tortilla. Slide your hot melted pile of goo on it, roll
and enjoy as the cheese drips out of it. OMG!!! YUMMY!!!!!

Here's another goodie!!!! Fry up crumbled hamburger and season a bit
with whatever spins your buttons, put burger on LC tortilla, thinly
sliced romaine hearts, grated cheddar, top with secret sauce ( equal
parts of sour cream, Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing and salsa mixed
togther) My 5 year old eats this too! DEEEELISH!!!

And yet another. Put cut up chicken breast, 2 romaine heart ribs (the
long white sections with green cut off, a sprinkle of bacon bits, a
sprinkle of parmasan cheese, and a small drip of Caesar dressing, roll
up and DEVOUR! I call this my Chicken Caesar roll up!

Default Low Carb Tortilla Hot Dogs

Hi,
On 29-Sep-2003, "Rich R" wrote:

My milage varies, indeed. But I will continue to post to this group.
Low carb works for me, but hot dogs? Bad.

Laughing You know how the reformed smoker/drinker/drug user acts
after they quit? Most of them will expound upon the evils of their
former habits to anyone - even people who don't want to hear about it.
The judgemental attitude is a massive turn-off. Hotdogs (and since
these were garlic they were more likely to have been more of a sausage
than a hotdog) are not in and of themselves 'bad'. They don't rob
convenience stores, or cheat on their wives or bilk investors out of
millions. A hotdog has never declared war against another country,
there have been no hotdog mobs rioting and looting and to the best of my
knowledge a hotdog has yet to rip the "Do Not Remove Under Penalty of
Law" tag from a mattress. They're food - protein and fat, with a big
side order of sodium. People are objecting to your characterization of
the OP's recipe as "sick" and hotdogs as "bad". Why? Because
judgemental attitudes are a massive turn-off. Losing your extra weight
(or me losing mine) doesn't confer the right to judge how other people
low-carb (or how they low-fat or what have you). Give advice where it's
warranted and let people find their own way.

Take care,
Carmen
