Default Walking for Exercise with a Weight Belt

using ankle weights when walking is not recommended, especially for
those with pre-existing knee problems!

My
solution was to add an additional 20 pounds by using a weight

belt.

Really good idea. Unfortunately no dive shops in my area. Sigh.

Time to
start surfing the web with my card again.

Could you get the same effect by using 2 or 4 bum bags (fanny packs)

with
weights of some sort in them? Have them evenly spaced front & back and
either side. Might look a bit lumpy though ) (my butt looks like

that
without the bum bags!)

I've seen people walking with hand weights, and I've seen ankle

weights for
sale in some sports shops too.

I have heard rumors, no hard facts, about ankle weights being bad for
the knees. I personally wouldn't try them, but check around before
trying them to make sure.

Weights are not necessary as the activity of walking take
enormous energy to activate the thigh muscles.

You don't want to trigger glucose burning either by raising
heart rate levels.
