At the moment, it's 45F. The walks are quite slippery in the mornings
from the overnight freezing of melting snow. No biking yet. Today, though, the sky is clear and the predicted high is 55F. There's no danger in a long walk around the lake with my neighbor. Hey Linda, missed the original post, great job.
What is this menu subscription service, share? -- Lesanne "Prairie Roots" wrote in message ... Thanks Laura. Weekends are always rough so I had a hard time getting started. But once Monday came, things seemed to fall into place food-wise. On Monday evening, I did Body Pump at the Y for the 1st time in over a year and my muscles didn't recover until Thursday! I went again yesterday and man, I'm feeling it today. Shows how much I need to be there. I'm trying to do things a little differently with food this time. I find it too easy to fall into food-choice and menu planning patterns which quickly turn into ruts. Although it's not the only reason I struggled to stay on program once I started hovering around my goal weight, one factor in my losing interest is that I was hungry for more interesting food and varied tastes. Now that I have a brand-new kitchen, I have a renewed interest in cooking. Unfortunately, I am brain-dead when it comes to menu planning. As a single person, most recipes leave far too many leftovers, and I end up eating the same meal all week or not having enough room in the freezer to store them. I discovered a subscription service that e-mails a weekly menus and shopping list. It's not Weight Watchers so I have to make some substitutions, but frankly, I'm not going to overworry about points so much this time. The meals and ingredients are mostly core, and where they aren't, I either substitute or count the points. In general, though, I'm feeling much more satisfied and satiated with less and not looking for more. That doesn't mean that pastries and sweets don't call my name and that I don't struggle to ignore them. For today, though, I'm doing well enough. -- Linda P On Sat, 05 Mar 2005 16:28:54 GMT, "Laura" wrote: Good job getting back on track. "Prairie Roots" wrote in message . .. Well, flowering cherries and plums are, well, flowering. So are tulip
trees. Daffies are up everywhere. Seattle is getting ready for an official drought call this week as our "so-far" Governor reacts to bad news on the snowpack levels. (so-far gov since the election is still in the courts over the 129 vote difference). I posted a link to me skiing yesterday at Mt Rainier but even there the snow levels are very low considering normal. And one "ski" area has zero percent of normal snow - NONE and most are still closed or running much less than normal operations. If I can get the legs moving, I will do a short bike ride today or else, like you, walk the lake. Hope you get to use the new bike soon. Oh, does your local bike club convert to some winter program like skiing or just hibernate (G) On Sun, 06 Mar 2005 10:11:18 -0600, Prairie Roots wrote: At the moment, it's 45F. I think the longer you follow Core you will find that the cravings and the
pastry calling will diminish greatly. I truely wish I could have gotten DH to support me more on Core but he won't and I don't need the extra stress in my life right now so I'm back to flex. I do try and stick close to core for breakfast and Lunch. It has always been dinner and eating out that kills my core efforts. "Prairie Roots" wrote in message ... Thanks Laura.
