Need motivation? The President's Challenge - Alt.Support.Diet group
I found out about it through my husband. And I formed an
Alt.Support.Diet group if people want to join. It's OK to be in more than one group... because George works for the government, I'm also in the Department of Commerce group. Anyway, it's a way to log your fitness activities. For some of us, it might be useful motivation! It got me to the gym today! I was also amused tonight... as I was forming the group, I got a pop-up asking me what the heck I was doing sitting at the computer when I could be out and active! That's the kind of pop-up I might need! G So here's the boilerplate... YOU'RE INVITED TO JOIN THE PRESIDENT'S CHALLENGE! Cynthia Perry has started a group to take the President's Challenge together: Alt.Support.Diet And you're invited to be part of it! WHAT IS IT? The President's Challenge is a series of programs designed to help improve anyone's activity level. Joining a group is a great way to make staying active easy. To learn more about the President's Challenge, go to: http://www.presidentschallenge.org Signing up for a group is simple. And there's no limit to how any you can belong to. You can join or leave at any time. All you have to do is register. It's quick, and there's no cost just to participate! -------------------------------------------- HOW TO JOIN: 1) Go to http://www.presidentschallenge.org/l...ndividual.aspx 2) Fill out the registration form. * Be sure to include the following info during registration * Group ID Number: 23823 Group Member ID/Name: Alt.Support.Diet 3) After registering, start logging your activities. As you log activities you'll be able to track your progress toward winning a President's Challenge Award or Medal. Anyway, hope some of you will jump on in with me! Cynthia 262/???.0/225 |

This is a good idea, Cynthia.
I'll be joining you. I just started a spreadsheet at home for biking as I want to chart my progress on specific types of rides. This site will be great for tracking overall activities. It's nice to see you back in the group. Hope to see you posting often. Beverly "Cynthia Perry" wrote in message ... I found out about it through my husband. And since my DS has barely missed the presidents challenge fitness - only due to his running times - and let me tell you, he's a fast runner at that - we are BOTH working on it this year. Every year in school, DS gets the 2'nd highest award, but can't achieve the highest award due to run times. Yet, out on the soccer field, he's the fasted kid out there running around the field when they do laps - I don't understand - other than the highest award has some pretty stenuous goals for elementary age kids. He has no problem doing the pushups, chinups, situps portion... So, this will be good for all of us. Now, If I could get us out to that track that is made of rubber on a more regular basis.. That is awesome to run on. |

These are the kinds of postive activities we need in this group for supporting each other. You should make a weekly post for newbies, etc. to encourage them to join. I've signed on. Jenn |
