Fat people kidding themselves

A majority of people who recognize themselves as overweight believe that
they are healthy anyway, according to a leading market consulting firm.
Those who acknowledge being fat or "a bit chunky" are not motivated to do
anything about it, either.

"Certainly, they are very concerned about the 'problem of obesity.' But
they are also very concerned about global warming, asbestos and
gingivitis," wrote researchers from Bellevue-based The Hartman Group.

And those who recognize other people as overweight do not consider
themselves overweight, though they might have similar weights or
measurements under the standard body mass index.

According to the study, "People who view themselves as being 'somewhat
overweight' are more likely to use euphemisms and descriptive language
about body shape than make specific weight goals or fat/muscle
correlations. Some of the most interesting language used includes
expressions such as "healthy," "curvy" and "big boned." These terms are
more often used in contexts of social networks."

Another blinding glimpse into the obvious IMO
