Reached 1st goal.. Hooray
Hi all. I don't post here a lot but I do spend quite a bit of time here
getting support from the rest of you guys. Today when I got on the scales it read 205. The first time my weight has been that low in at least 25 years! Both the wife and I went on a diet last December. We have both done rather well at it, I started out at 262 lbs on Dec 10th 2005 and Jane at 215. We were commited to losing weight so cleaned out the pantry of All processed foods, got rid of all the sugar and salt. And that is pretty much it. been eating healthy ever since, we replaced stevia for sugar and the only salt we get is what comes naturally on the foods. We eat a lot of green stuff, lean meats (chicken, fish and beef), drink lots of water and have a protien shake every morning. We joined a gym and work out there at least 3 times a week. Some of the things we've learned: Thin tastes a lot better than fat (posted on our refrigerator) You have more energy when you are thin and eating right. shopping at the Salvation Army while going through clothing sizes IS fun. When we do splurge and go out to dinner we enjoy it so much more. Same thing with that occasional bottle of wine. IOW when you do things in moderation they become more enjoyable. Quality becomes more important than quantity. Married for 31 years, Thinner we enjoy each other so much more. Best of luck to everyone. P&J |

Sorry, That was rather rude of me, seeing as she was the one who got us started on this whole weight loss thing. Her weigh in yesterday read 158. 8 lbs from her goal. |

Congratulations to both of you. Isn't it amazing what eating right and
adding a little exercise can do for weightloss I'm always glad to hear how people have made simple changes such as yours and had great success without turning to extreme diet and exercise programs. shopping at the Salvation Army while going through clothing sizes IS fun. I second that. Nice to buy a brand name shirt that originally cost someone $30 for $1.99. Came in handy when I was (and still am) zipping through pant sizes... Matty (I weighed more than Jared from Subway) 481/256/225 (starting weight/current weight/goal weight) First mini goal achieved - 104lbs lost 10/26/04 Second mini goal achieved - 137lbs lost 01/28/05 Third mini goal achieved - 183lbs lost 09/30/05 Fourth mini goal achieved - 204lbs total lost 01/30/06 Fifth mini goal - 231lbs total lost by 08/31/06 |
