Default new to the group - Hi to all!!

Welcome!! This is a great group and what you will learn here--what you
really KNOW, but if you are like me, won't admit to--there are no magic
bullets, no easy solutions. It takes a lifestyle change, an attitude
change, a diffrent approach to food. And it often sucks. I feel better
now--and I've lost and regained LARGE amounts of weight three times
before--then I ever have in my life, and I'm still far from my lowest scale
weight. The diffrence now is, I'm eating healthy, eating REAL food, I'm
properly fueled, not living on magic meal bars and drinks and starving--or
popping ephedra like Pez. But I still crave; I still fantasize over Colonel
Sanders. This group keeps me grounded.

Hi everyone.

I have read some of the most recent posts for this group and you are
all just wonderful! The way you support each other, its such an
inspiration, and I would like to be a part of it.

My Story....a little long winded (even though it's an abridged
version), I'm afraid....
I made the decision almost 5 years ago to change my life, and the
priority first up was lose weight. I weighed in at 297lbs, lost 81lbs
over 7 months doing a VLCD, over the next 3 years I gained back just
under 40lb. Now I am back on the VLCD, have lost that 39lbs (again) in
the past 7 weeks, and am well on the way. I am being much smarter this
time, I am learning about healthy eating and calories for the first
time in my life, it's quite enlightening. I can see how I ended up the
way I did! We have a family history of diabetes, and I don't want
that.

Current weight....220lb

Goal weight....140lb (not set in stone, will make adjustments as the
time goes on, haven't weighed that since I was about 15, so it's a
start)

thanks for your time
Helen
