Hello to all. I've been periodically checking into this group and it
seems like most people here are nice and quite supportive. I embarked
on a new WOE a little over a month ago. I've been using the method of
trying to make smarter choices when eating, and slowly but surely
picking up on the exercise thing. I've been using a piece of software
called DietPower, to log my eats & drinks, as well as track my
exercise. It seems like it is helping me more than just trying to
wing it on my own. Has anyone else used it with any success? I'm
about 30 days in, and I've dropped 8 lbs. so far from my original 240.
My current goal, which I may or may not have to revise, is to get
under the 200 plateau in a 6 month time frame. I'm a 34 year old male
who stands 5' 11". Does this seem realistic, or too drastic?

You're current goal is very doable. Congratulations on making smarter
choices and getting exercise. It will become a habit if you let it. My
initial changes were to walk one mile a day and eat half as much food as
I had before, using a smaller plate.

Keep up the good work, continue posting here and if you want to read a
terrific book, get Changing for Good by Prochaska.
