The ironic thing is that I have just lost 30 (yes, now thirty!) pounds in
the past six weeks - since December 15th. I would love to see Ignoramus'
weight loss for the same period. It's amusing to me that he's telling me
how and what to eat.

It's unfortunate that he expresses himself so caustically and arrogantly. I
think that he probably has the same basic ideas about eating that most of us
do; he's just annoying in the way he presents his ideas. I agree with him
that we shouldn't make a steady diet of just junk food, however, he is wrong
in making a blanket statement that seemingly should apply to all people all
the time. We are not lower animals, like dogs, who can happily eat nothing
but the same dog food day in and day out. We need a variety in our diets
and occassionally enjoy something pleasurable.

If he purposely denies himself occassionally eating something pleasurable
for religious reasons (like a monk, perhaps) , that's different. But even a
monk wouldn't be so presumptuous as to think that his austere standards
should apply to all people.

I hardly think that my merely trying a very reasonable portion of food (1/2
cup) that is made of mostly cream (one of my allowed foods), and has 130
calories and 4g of carbs warranted his ridicuous commandment to "never eat
junk food!" The word "hyperbole" comes to mind.

The saddest thing is that he ignored the entire point of my post -- which
was that after trying the Endulge ice cream I realized that I cannot eat it
for reasons that I stated. I thought that I posted my experience in a way
that might contain information helpful to someone else -- which is the
purpose of this NG. There was no need or at all for him to make a universal
proclamation with no data, empirical evidence or even personal experience to
back up his claim.
