Why are sugars bad for you.
How does sugar increase weight gain? Its all about insulin and the
fact that the hormone gets released after consuming carbohydrates, pushing the carbs into your fat cells. Insulin does this because of its role in your bodies homeostasis. In order to get your blood sugar levels back to normal insulin quickly pushes the calories (carbs, sugars) into your fat cells. In order to stop your pancreas from releasing the insulin we need to limit the amounts of simple carbohydrates (sugar, white flour, honey, molasses) and keep your protein levels consistent. The fact that sugar and simple carbohydrates taste good and provide your mind and body with quick energy and a euphoric feeling, essentially making you a quick energy addict. It usually only takes a few days to curve your sugar cravings but may be made easier by using Stevia ( a very good sugar substitute), and eating consistently. Here are a few other reasons that sugar can be harmful to you: 1. Sugar can lower your immune system. 2. Sugar can lead to sleep deprivation and depression. 3. Sugar can reduce good cholesterol. 4. Sugar can lead to acid production in your stomach. 5. Sugar can lead to diabetes. 6. Sugar can cause food allergies. 7. Sugar can increase your chances of headaches and or migraines. 8. Sugar can increase your systolic blood pressure. Unfortunatly sugar is added to so much of our food and its hard to quit once your hooked. Also remember that Alcoholic drinks and fast food have sugar in them. http://loseweightforgoodchallenge.blogspot.com/ |
