Yes, you are in ketosis. Congratulations! Don't be alarmed when it moves to not
being quite so dark. As long as it's changing color at all, you are in ketosis.
Drinking lots of water (which you SHOULD do) can dilute it, and it can also
change throughout the day in reponse to eating.

Trace or darker is positive for ketosis.

That's okay. Darker isn't a problem. Since anything from trace
darker is positive it doesn't matter.
But expect the sticks to go lighter in about week 3. It's a natural
sequence of events that is about the time, not about anything you do.

My oldest son and I both had the darker shades on the strips. My
younger son, the 11 year old, showed the trace amounts. Its good to
hear that he is in ketosis no matter what then. I did compliment him
and encourage him. Its helping him stay on track. I will let him know
he is doing good anyways, he felt discourgaged with the different
color/trace amounts.
