Why did Atkins need a fundraiser?

She could have a clue as to what killed him. I'm certain that is what she
meant.

Why are you even her? This is a low-carb SUPPORT group! Can you not
read? Or simply get your kicks making fun of people? You say diets don't
work? But yet you promote the 2 pound DIET. People need support, not
bashing!

Get your kicks elsewhere.

I'm bashing Atkins and support, in my book, begins with truth. Atkins
delivers very little of it.

Myway, you need to familiarize yourself with kill filters. Newsgroups
are much more pleasant once you learn to use them. See an asshole,
KILL FILTER him. His postings will vanish--one less idiot in the

Nah...don't use kill filters. Just that this is a SUPPORT group. His
ignorance must have ripened or rotted with age. Shame some people cannot
use their time better than to bash others. Like he knows nore than an

Only problem with mu is that you have to constantly KF him, because he
changes his e-mail address every day. But I still do it.

If Dr. Bob would have eaten a more balanced diet, maybe he wouldn't

Outright lie by AP. Atkins' diet stresses low GI vegetables over potatoes,
pasta and white bread.

A lame insinuation that he died of something else correlated with his fall.
I am sure you can point everyone to the medical record on fall induced
heart attack and cancer deaths.

I don't do your research for you but if you believe that Atkins death,
statistically, is more likely to have occurred by ONLY slipping and
smacking his head as opposed to another cardiac event which caused the
"fall", go right ahead. Stand in that corner quite lonesome you will.

A head injury on pavement is ABSOLUTELY capable of killing you. I know,
believe me, from personal painful experience, how serious it can be.

Speculating that it was a heart related issue without proof is tantamount to
slandering the guy and he is not even alive to defend himself.....

And what if it had been? There is no certifiable proof that it was caused
by his diet. There are any number of theories right now from infected gums
and sinuses to inflammation to cholesterol as to what REALLY causes heart
disease. It's all speculation.

In his case his death was caused by bleeding in the brain if I read
correctly. This was easily verifiable with todays technology. The
location of the bleeding is what is important, and he ended up brain dead.
It can happen very easily with the wrong kind of injury.

When you see people on TV and in movies that get knocked out cold from a
"bop" on the head then they get up and go running around and doing karate
chops and beating the bad guy up afterwards, it is FAKE. A real head
injury is SERIOUS and you definitely can get dead from it.

Hey, the guy is dead, let him sleep in peace. His diet DOES lower blood
glucose and he had a clinic in NYC for many years which treated a lot of
people successfully.

If you don't like it, then don't do it. Eat what you damn well please!

LOL!

BIO

Dawn reviewed her first film, "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," at age 9,
pronouncing it "not without charm, but such a deviation from the book
that only hardcore Dick Van Dyke lovers will succumb to it's treacly
charms." She has continued to take a similarly jaundiced view of
popular movies ever since.

Her hobbies include cooking and eating food, collecting disturbing
toys, and mocking others. Her husband is very understanding of her
quirks, but her cat is not. The dog is oblivious.

Dawn's favorite holiday is Halloween (it's also her wedding
anniversary) and she's fond of the scent of lavender. Her lucky number
is five.

FAVORITES

Despite my sardonic nature, my favorites are far too numerous to list.
First to come to mind are "Chinatown," "A Fish Called Wanda," the
original "Cape Fear," "Taxi Driver," and the Evil Dead films. I also
have an inexplicable, perverse love for the movie "Tombstone."

I don't know but her statement did not limit to coronary arteries.

If you want a list of the names he used that I have in my kill-file (far
more than two) let me know.

He had a bacterial infection in his heart. Didn't have anything to do with
heart disease.

Don't be ridiculous... of course not, since I am here to write about it, but
it was pretty dangerous and I was told that I was lucky.

Have you heard of motorcycle helmet laws? They have prevented many such
deaths, but you don't need to riding a bike to hit hard, especially with ice
to slip on.

Many people have died from head injuries on pavement.

What do you mean? Many people hold fundraisers for all types of things.
Maybe it was for Make-a-wish or something.

I remember reading about Jim & Tami Baker's religious "fund raising". Their
dog had an air conditioned dog house, among other things. Lucky dog! And
think of what the expense must have been for eye makeup?? <g>

Never said it couldn't.

It is not slander at all.

There is no certifiable proof in science. So what?

Atkins as of today does not recommend the diet for diabetics.

That is what was reported.

Dr. Bob has this penchant for getting diseases that are relatively
miniscule statistically and dying from a relatively miniscule
(statistically) possibility.

You know what is highly (statistically) probable? He lied, they lied,
his wife's a liar and he had an MI the first time and a MI that killed
him before his noggin ever conked the concrete.

And that's the facts Jack.

How many times do you think he has died for him to have a "penchant" for dying
from relatively a miniscule statistical possibility?
