According to Matthew (who was kindly protecting you all), I'm here to
generate revenue. So, since I'm actually not, but I'm also not having
much luck convincing anyone that detoxification is a healthy and
natural way to lose weight permanently - I thought the best way would
be to provide some information that everyone would find helpful without
buying any "product" - I know, I did it all naturally following the
same steps outlined below (among others, but that's for another day:):
1. Exercise (no brainer, but remember that toxins are released when you
perspire, so shower immediately afterwards so the toxins are not
re-absorbed into the body). However, walking is by far the best
exercise to do - the body was naturally built for walking - it is
rhythmic and natural - I used to power walk for 30 minutes 4 times a
week. If you want a slower pace, then extend the time to 45 or 60
minutes.
2. Switch to organic foods (I eat many of the foods I ate before, but
now I eat the organic version of them - when fresh fruit and vegetables
are not laden with pesticides and other toxins they help to detoxify
the body)
3. Try a 1-day water fast every week - I've been doing this for months
and I love it. Saturday night I don't eat after dinner and then I drink
water until Sunday and eat a light dinner. The body uses so much energy
to digest food, giving it a break frequently helps rejuvenate your
energy. Ensure you do not begin doing this until you have prepared your
body - you can do this by ensuring you eat lots of organic fruits and
vegetables for at least a few weeks prior to starting this. Consistency
is key - do it the same time every week (pick a day where you will not
have high levels of physical activity).
4. Oxygenate your body - please do your own research on this before
starting. You can do this several ways: A.Purchase 33% Food Grade
Hydrogen Peroxyde at your local health food store. You can add 1 and
1/2 cups of this to a full bath to help oxygenate your body - since
your skin is your largest organ the oxygen is immediately taken into
the body. B. Add 2-3 drops to distilled water and drink this a few
times a day - you will not taste a thing. You can go up to 8 drops, but
I find the water starts to taste bleachy, 2-3 drops is fine. (NOTE: be
careful using this as 33% hydrogen peroxyde is strong - keep it away
from your face when opening, but it is entirely safe to use diluted -
if you purchase it in a health food store, there is often a pamphlet
that talks about how to use it - ask someone in the store or your
Naturopathic Doctor if you're not sure C. See if any of the gyms or
spas in your area have oxygen bars where you can inhale the oxygen
directly. In addition, there are some spas that will inject this into
your blood stream - I always found that a bit extreme, but it is
available. Note that we are currently breathing in 30% less oxygen than
we did 100 years ago (according to someone's study, sorry don't have
the reference on hand)
5. Meet with a Naturopathic Doctor - find out if you have Candida -
this was a huge problem for me due to the amount of penicillin I'd
taken over my lifetime. I had systemic Candida which led to a host of
other problems. There are diet changes you can make to get rid of it -
it takes quite a bit of dedication (and it's no fun - no sugar!), but
it's well worth it. There are some herbs your Naturopathic Doctor can
give you to help kill the Candida.
6. Most creams and makeups you put on your skin are toxic - change
these to all natural or organic creams (including your soaps, shampoos
and toothpastes). The first ingredient in any body cream you use should
be Purified Water.
7. Ensure you are getting your trace minerals and Essential Fatty Acids
- these are key - they are called "essential" because your body can't
produce them on its own. The two basic essential fatty acids are Omega
3 and Omega 6. We generally get lots of Omega 6 through our diets, but
don't get enough Omega 3 (try flaxseed oil, cod liver oil, eating fish,
etc. for this). If your body has enough Omega 3 and 6, it can produce
Omega 9 on its own. Trace minerals are another thing that we are
generally not getting enough of. You can get these from your health
food store (ConcenTrace is a good brand I used to use).
8. Get a blood allergy test - this was huge for me, as soon as I
eliminated all of the foods I was allergic to (and there were MANY) my
heartburn disappeared and I felt like a human being again. If you
remove these from your diet, your body will generally re-orient itself
over time and you can try to re-introduce the food at a later time to
see if there are any issues.
These will give you a great start and shouldn't take you too far off
whatever you're doing now. As always, please take the time to research
